At ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort, Last November, "GREEN FINS" It has been one year since we received official certification.
Our resort announced its participation in Green Fins in June 2021 and has been working to comply with the guidelines and promote their activities. After clearing the strict evaluation criteria, we were officially certified in November 2022. During the assessment, the degree of impact on the environment is scored and a ranking is given based on the level. Our resort is currently certified as "Silver".
Two years after certification, we will continue to strive to be an environmentally friendly eco-resort of world standard, aiming for the higher "Gold" rank.

Green Fins is an initiative aimed at protecting coral reefs that was launched in 2004 by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Reefworld Foundation in the UK. It establishes and disseminates guidelines for environmentally friendly diving and snorkeling, and evaluates and certifies dive shops that comply with these guidelines. Since its establishment, approximately 600 dive shops in 14 countries around the world have been certified.
Onna Village, where our resort is located, declared itself the world's most coral-friendly village on July 21, 2018, and was selected as an SDGs Future City by the Cabinet Office in 2019. In April 2020, the village became the first in Japan to introduce Green Fins.

What happens if the coral reefs disappear?
What happens if the coral reefs disappear?
Coral reefs are essential for maintaining biodiversity and for our diet. It is said that about 90,000 different species of creatures live in coral. It also absorbs carbon dioxide, helping to prevent global warming.
The decline of coral reefs leads to the collapse of marine ecosystems, leading to a decline and extinction of fish.
There is concern that global warming is accelerating. We appreciate your cooperation in our environmental conservation efforts.

4. Take your trash home with you If any debris gets into the bodies of marine animals, it could be life-threatening. It can also have an impact on the food chain. Even though we cannot see it, there is a possibility that fish with garbage still inside them may end up on our dinner tables.
We ask for your cooperation in not littering but taking it home with you.
